Plenty of New Pictures!

"How's the garden doing?" People keep asking me this question, so I decided it was time to add updated pictures. Enjoy!

First, a beautiful stargazer lily in the lily bed.

Then the veggies and herbs…….

A View of the Whole Garden

Cattle Panel Trellis

Cucumber Trellis

Pole Bean Trellis

One of the broccoli plants, with garlic planted at the corners and a lonely carrot that migrated. (See it in the bottom left-hand corner?)

Onions

Scallions (I think I need to thin these!)

Pretty Spinach

Bibb Lettuce (I think the slugs have been snacking….ggggrrrrrrrr!)

My Pathetic Attempt at a Snap Pea Trellis

The Peas Seem To Like It, Though!

Triple Treat Pumpkins

Jack ‘O Lanterns

Better Boy Tomatoes (…with some lettuce underneath! No, those aren’t weeds. J My trellis didn’t fit where I wanted it and the lettuce had just been planted. I figured I would harvest it as baby lettuce instead of ripping it all out.)

Patio Tomatoes and Ground Cherries (Just planted so no sprouting there yet.)

More Patio Tomatoes

One of my patio tomatoes has a flower! Should I pinch it off? They’re not very tall yet.
So there it is so far. I hope to add some close-ups of individual plants tomorrow so you can see some of my herbs and things. I’m having so much fun!

So Much Updating To Do!

I can't believe how much I have to catch up posting about. I'm going to wait until tomorrow evening to do it, though, because I hope to accomplish a lot more tomorrow.

My to-do list:
Plant and transplant some lilies
Plant some other perennials that were given to me
Finish filling the last two square foot beds and plant them
Erect the pole bean teepee and plant the beans
Pull weeds, add topsoil, and plant my rock garden plants
Mulch around the daylily bed
Plant ferns (in three shade/mostly shade beds)
Post photos of the climbing vine...I think it might be Virginia Creeper
Plant columbine seeds after weeding the bed the will live in

I have more but, since I doubt I'll even accomplish that much tomorrow, I'll stop now. :)

Ouch! That hurt!

So while I was putting in my perennial herb beds next to the back porch I tripped over my little guy and fell....crash!....right onto the ground, and onto a pile of rocks I had pulled out of the beds. Boohoohoohoohoo! That HURT! I bruised my wrist, pulled a muscle in my side, and had some lovely shooting pains up my other arm. I've finally recovered almost fully, but that's why I haven't been around.

It's Taking Shape!

The garden is finally taking shape and looking semi-finished. Here are some photos to satisfy your curiosity.

Close-Up of Bed #1 Sugar Snap Peas, Spinach, Bibb Lettuce (see how some of the lettuce squares need thinning big time!)
